An original take on an ancient amulet! Brushed and oxidized sterling silver contrast in this endearingly asymmetrical hamsah (a protective symbol from the Middle East, representing the Hand of God).

The combination of traditional and modern design, along with a sturdy, adjustable 24-inch sterling-silver chain, make this an extraordinarily versatile piece. Dress it up or down for the occasion—or tuck it out of sight for that secret confidence boost.

Dimensions: 1 x 1.75 inch pendant; 24-inch chain (adjustable)

New York native Jane Diaz has collaborated with Nepalese metal-smiths for twenty-six years, creating a unique hand-made line of designer jewelry. A background in fine art, anthropology, and dance, combined with a life-long passion for ritual and ornamentation, led Jane to her success as a designer. She envisions a collection of jewelry perfectly matched with the traditional hand-made techniques of Nepal. As the industrial world expands to consume many ancient crafts, Jane values the one-of-a-kind distinction that human touch gives each individual piece. It's important to her to keep the skills of these craftsmen alive.

Jane's jewelry is a way to express her life experience and aesthetic. The confetti of charms in her line make up a spiritual symbolism that has come out of personal inquiry, world travel, and cultural studies. Painterly colors characterize her stone collections, and the romance of periods such as the Victorian Era, Art Deco, and Midcentury Modern give form and shape to her collections.
