The Tree of Life is a shared symbol reminiscent of the innocence and abundance of life in the garden as told in the Jewish story, and the ongoing interconnectedness of life in Celtic mythology. It speaks of the re-creation of marriage, renewing and rebuilding two lives into one new and beautiful life. Celtic knot-work is often used to signify unending commitment and devotion. If you follow these strands closely you will find that this tree has two sides which are woven together by a third strand in the trunk or core of the tree. This third strand echoes the reflection in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.
