Pewter Israel Museum Bird and Hamsa Keyring

The hamsa (hand) shape has been used since ancient times for decoration and to denote divine protection. Originally part of a synagogue lamp, the hand shape of the brass hamsa that this keyring is based on is in the form of two birds on either side of a Star of David, with the Hebrew letter Heh (symbolizing the Divine Name) in the center.
