Handmade Glass Apples Platter
Printed with Shana Tova in both English and Hebrew, which means happy new year. The platter is printed with an apple and vine design plus the text.
This piece is screen printed, kiln formed glass. Designs are printed with glass enamels, then fused in a kiln to about 1400 degrees. They are cold worked on wet saws and grinders, then returned to the kiln to slump or drape into/over molds to about 1250 degrees. The long platter is about 7 1/2 x 15" x about 1/4" thick and, after fusing, is slumped into a sushi-style mold, making it about 1 1/2" tall at the corners, and the bowl is about 5" round x 2" high, and the inside of the bowl is slightly matte, contrasting with the super shiny outside. Set comes with one platter and one bowl.
It is food safe and while they are dishwasher safe (china cycle, please), we recommend hand washing (dishwasher detergent can etch glass over time, resulting in scratched and cloudy glassware).
