Star of David and Chai Jewelry

Star of David, also known as the Shield of David or Magen David, has been the most popularly recognized symbol of Judaism and Jewish identity for centuries. Our Star of David necklace collection, made by both American and Israeli artists, are a mix of traditional and modern, classic and contemporary, minimalist and elaborate statement pieces.

The word Chai is made up of two letters of the Hebrew alphabet - Chet ( ח‬) and Yod ( י‬), forming the word "chai", meaning "alive", or "living". In Hebrew, the related word chaya ( חיה‬) means "living thing" or "animal", and is derived from the Hebrew word chai ( חי‬), meaning "life" Many believe that the letters of chai add up to 18. For this reason, 18 is a spiritual number in Judaism, and many give gifts of money in multiples of 18 as a result.

Chai and Star of David Necklaces make the perfect gift for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Proceeds from all sales support the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia.
