Marrakesh Mezuzah (Gold)
Ornate and elegant, the motifs on this gold mezuzah were inspired by a Hanukkah lamp from nineteenth-century Marrakesh, Morocco. The Jewish artists of Morocco, whose roots lay in pre-expulsion Spain and Portugal, often integrated these different cultures in their work, combining arabesque tracings, floral motifs, stars of David, and latticework.
(Also available in brass and pewter.)
Dimensions: 4.5 x 5 inches
An enduring symbol of safety and protection for all who dwell within a home, a mezuzah consists of a prayer scroll in a decorative case, which is affixed to the front door jamb (and sometimes to interior doorposts as well). They make an especially good gift for a wedding or housewarming.
